May Day 2016

30th April 2016

May Day

We are proud to be able to continue with this lovely village tradition and we are hoping for some sunshine! Let’s make this a real village community event. Bring your friends, family and neighbours and enjoy the dancing and then come and join us at school for the tea and the Spring Fayre!

Children should assemble at 1.45pm on the school playground ready to be part of the procession to leave at 2pm prompt to walk to the Maypole in the centre of the village.  We will then have the crowning of Isbelle, this year’s May Queen, followed by the dancing.

The dancers are invited to take part in the children's tea party afterwards which is kindly donated by parents and carers.

Spring Fair – there will be a Spring Fayre in school after the dancing with a variety of stalls situated on the playgrounds. This is being organised by FOBS. Please see a member of the FOBS committee if you are able to offer some help with this event. Refreshments will also be available for adults and non-dancing children in the school and contributions for this would be most welcome. Please indicate on the reply slip if you are able to contribute to this.

Any prizes for the tombola will be welcome.  Please bring them in to school on our non-uniform day on Friday 22nd April.
